Ever since the women's final at Wimbledon either Serena or the press bang on about "how can she not be World number 1"

Well it's simple you idiots.The World rankings are based on these things called points.If you only play 4 tournaments a year you don't earn many of these magical things.If you don't win any points and somebody else does then they will be higher than you in the rankings.

So Serena,shut up and play more tournaments and to all of those media people (like the women on SSN this morning) that even BREIFLY touch on the World number 1 issue.USE YOUR BRAINS! It doesn't take 2 minutes to figure out why she isn't number one.If I can do it from my office chair while working on my business then surely someone who has been playing the game for years and supposed sports experts can figure it out.

You have a point, and also to add to that, it takes a lot of work and energy to be world number one and it often puts them at a disadvantage to those who pick their tournaments when it comes to the majors. Federer doesn't care about his No.1 status as much as he does winning Majors, and was only gifted it back due to Nadal not playing due to injury. I am not saying that he doesn't deserve his No.1 status, just saying that he really didn't expect to regain it, because he really is only about majors at this point in his career.
