November 14th, Manchester, UFC 105: Couture V Vera.

I've heard a few fans claiming that the card is a bit flat and could lead to a possible boring PPV... I disagree!

Firstly, it's the return to the 205 division (and the first mma match ever in the UK) of the legend Randy 'the natural' Couture. I think he knew he had hit a brick wall in the heavyweight division with Brock as champ and Nougeira looking so good... so he's dropped to Light heavyweight to try and have a run at the title there... Before 104 and the shocking refereeing decision, there was talk of giving Randy the next shot at the 205 title if he beats Vera in Manchester, and while I feel this would be wrong seen as Randy hasn't won a match for almost a couple of years, let alone a light heavyweight match, I wouldn't be suprised if they did do it... Randy is such a huge draw and Randy V Machida would be huge... But there's one man in his way; The Truth!!! This will be a huge main event, with a lot on the line for both of them, I mean, Vera will elevate himself in the division if he can beat Randy, and may only have to go through the winner of the Rashad Evans V Thiago Silva fight to get the next shot at the title after the Machida/ Shogun rematch.

Also... Michael Bisping will be trying to avenge his loss (and the first time he has ever been KO'd) to Hendo... The count is in his home town and will desperately be trying to get a win over Kang and back on the road to a shot at Anderson Silva's middleweight belt... Kang will be a hard fight for Bisping and Bisping knows another loss would be catastrophic to possible title hopes... He didn't look like the same feller against Hendo, so hopefully this time he comes out fighting... It's a must win!

Mick Swick wants a shot at the title and may very well get it if he puts away Dan Hardy... But the outlaw wants to prove on his home soil that he is the top British fighter in the UFC... Another huge bout!!!

What with those three high stake fights plus TUF 9 winner Ross Pearson fighting... It's gonna be a great PPV in my opinion... And plus, because it's in England, it's on at 8pm and I get to watch it down the pub... HAPPY DAYS!

I'm going. It's an exciting card but there isn't really a lot on the line other than climbing the ladder a bit. I'm delighted to see Couture fight live as he is nearing the end of his career and Hardy-Swick has FOTN written all over it.

But, IMO, there isn't a lot on the line. similar to 106 now that Brock has pulled out - exciting cards but ones which could end up meaning very little.

Good to hear that you're going... it'll be a great night. Was thinking about it myself, but Manchesters a long way away from where I live. Although there's still chance to see Randy fight; he's signed a new 6 fight deal, which keeps him in the octagon for 3 more years (just shy of his 49th Birthday) so hopefully he'll visit these shores again!!!!

It's not so much that there's a lot on the line, but there's a lot at stake regarding title shots as a result of winning... Vera will be a top contender if he beats Randy, Randy will no doubt get the next shot if he beats Vera, the Hardy and Swick match is apparently a number one contenders match and Bisping needs to win desperately after his poor show (and first KO) against Hendo... There's a lot to fight for, and it's gonna be a great show!!!

It could set up #1 contenders but really (other than possibly the winner of Swick-Hardy) I see each person on the card needing another top win to get to that level.

But that doesn't detract from what should be an awesome night of fighting. Can't wait. I'm driving up from Brum on the Saturday morning

It's gonna be a great night of action, was gonna go up untill 7 week ago, only got out of hospital 2 weeks ago from a broken back - well gutted! got it on 3$PN with some mates though Nearly every bouts a topone .

Couture Vs. Vera - hoping for a Couture win here, clocking on 50 & still better than some of the mid 20's around .......... Swick Vs. Hardy - Hardy's my 2nd fav only to the Spider, I'm having Dan for the win here, great game plan, but not like he done for The American Hand Grenade ;) but Swick is a tricky customer, could be very close? ......... Bisping Vs. Kang - as already said, he needs a very good win here & I reckon he'll get it .......... Wilks Vs. Brown - very imprssed in the final of TUF, James will go fair I should imagine .......... Pearson Vs. Riley - I'm not too sure on Ross TBH, hope he still wins but he's a bit suspect if you ask me? .......... Taylor Vs. Hathaway - both great British fighters but I'll say Hathaway for this, should have it in the bag ........ Etim Vs.Gugerty - keep an eye on Terry Etim, top prospect ........ Andre (the) Winner Vs. Delgado (the crazy Cuban) - really glad the lad got his brake in the UFC, Andre win via KO .......... Kelly Vs. D Siver - Paul Kelly with a whoopingly great win against ze German!!! .......... Osipczak Vs. Riddle - Osipczak's got the shaolin kung fu style TKO Up The Brits

Have a great night ya lucky jammy lot, :o) tickets are still on sale I believe - £40 - £250ish?
